Customer Feedback:
Here is the reasons why I choose Foxflash ECU Programmer to clone my ECU.
1) Anyway.. Im deciding on buying a tuning device and among other the choice is FoxFlash, can you guys tell me if you have any issues with it, do you do tuning on a daily basis with it and would you buy it again?
Im a complete beginner in this field and dont know what to buy as Im deciding between Kess V2 + Ktag and FoxFlash for a small price difference.
You can also DM me, I will appreciate all the suggestions and help to a beginner.
I hope I didnt cross the line with the question, if so, please delete.
Kess and ktag are completed the Foxflash is better to have you can do many more ECU.
2)one thing.. if you have a priror map of same car, can you use it on other car or do you need to change vin etc in the file or it doesnt matther? (sorry beginner) noob question 🙂
lets say golf gti 2.0 tfsi year 2009 and you want to put map on 2008, the same model ECU
Yeah normally it will work ! I done a Mercedes cls 320 CDI 2006 by obd with foxflash , there was a driver of another Mercedes cls , i think it was 2010 , i did dpf and dtc and it works
Depends you have to try
interesting, did you check the ECU ID first and combined the maps or did the same map work?
Yes first of all you have always to Check the ID !
Yes I did and it works
Will not work in this golf in fact it’s asking in a lot of cases for a bricked unit especially in later year ecus the early merc that Mario spoke of if he had done if was bench would have lost Immo data best to modify only the file that you read
aha, thank you for the pro tip.
was asking out of curiosity.
I will always check the ecu model and everything.
One question you will probablly know.. most of or all maps from ecu have 2MB size, and i buy a stage 1 map for example that is for that model of ecu and its 512kb, i need to insert a copy of the original map into winOLS and compare to the stage one to tell me the difference and exchange the data so in the end i get the 2MB map?
That would be the correct procedure right?
Yes exactly if it’s the same software version you can isolate the map areas and transfer the changes
perfect, thank you Rob, I appreciate it
