That’s exactly the problem EngineDance set out to solve with the latest update to the EngineDance X5: full MDG1 Unlock support for vehicles manufactured after 2021.
What’s New
The EngineDance X5 can now handle MDG1 unlocking entirely in-house, right at your own bench. No third-party shipping, no waiting on a remote technician, and no scheduling delays. Here’s what that means in practice:
- No Shipping — Keep the ECU on your bench from start to finish
- No Remote Assistance Needed — Complete the unlock independently
- No Waiting — Get results the same day, not days later
- Boot Mode Unlock — Direct boot-level access for reliable unlocking
- Read & Write in Bench — Full read/write capability without removing the unit from your workspace

One Thing to Know Before You Start
This feature requires the MD1/MG1 BOOT-GLITCH Adapter. Make sure you have this adapter on hand before attempting a bench unlock — without it, the boot mode process won’t complete correctly.

The MDG1 Unlock function is available across the full EngineDance ecosystem — on the X5 hardware itself, through the laptop software, and via the mobile app. Whether you’re working at a dedicated bench station or need to check something on the go, the tools are in your hands.
